playground & Dog park

In 2019, the Borough was awarded a grant through the Department of Community & Economic Development. The funding will go towards the following:

  • Installation of new playground equipment.

  • Installation of a fenced in, off-leash dog park and agility area.

  • New metal roofing for pavilions and bathroom.

  • Paint for public bathroom.

The playground area will occupy a 6700 square feet area where the existing ball field is located. It will house six different slides, several climbing areas, a rock wall, swing set, and seesaw. The dog park area will be located where the tennis/basketball court was located. It will occupy a 3000 square feet fenced in area with agility equipment and a separate play area for smaller dogs.

Project phases will consist of the following:  

March-May

  • Land clearing, tree/stump removal and removal of court area

  • Drainage installation, ground leveling and running services to the dog park area

May- June

  • Fence installation

  • Installation of new roofing materials and paint

  • Installation of agility area for dogs

June- August

  • Playground Construction

A tentative date for re-opening is scheduled for late September and is weather dependent. Individuals who plan on renting the park this year shall expect times when the park will be closed to visitors. Please contact the Borough Office in advance to check on park availability.

Park update #1 3/5/2020

Crews begin to remove the old tennis and basketball court area. Also, tree stumps are being removed in preparation for clean fill that will be dumped to level the area. 

Park update #2 3/26/2020

The area is ready for topsoil. Water and electric lines were also installed. Playground equipment will be delivered shortly.  

Park update #3 4/27/2020

Crews have installed electric and water to serve the dog park area and have also leveled out fresh top soil. The Borough also took delivery of the playground equipment and dog park fixtures. Once the weather breaks, installation will take place.
