trine park project
playground & Dog park
In 2019, the Borough was awarded a grant through the Department of Community & Economic Development. The funding will go towards the following:
Installation of new playground equipment.
Installation of a fenced in, off-leash dog park and agility area.
New metal roofing for pavilions and bathroom.
Paint for public bathroom.
The playground area will occupy a 6700 square feet area where the existing ball field is located. It will house six different slides, several climbing areas, a rock wall, swing set, and seesaw. The dog park area will be located where the tennis/basketball court was located. It will occupy a 3000 square feet fenced in area with agility equipment and a separate play area for smaller dogs.
In conjunction with the Trine Park project, the Mt. Holly Springs Heart and Soul, along with the Cumberland County Historical Society recently published a video regarding blue birds at Trine Park. Recently, Mt. Holly Springs Heart and Soul took on a project installing several blue bird houses throughout the park. Check out the video link to see the project and how you can help.
You may have noticed, park benches throughout the walking trails and throughout Trine Park. Interested in purchasing one? Please contact the Borough Office or stop by for more information. The cost of each park bench is $350.00 which covers the materials to construct them along with a plaque that's attached memorializing a group or an individual.
Over the past year, public works crews had to place Trine Park on hold due to many other projects taking place throughout the Borough. This year, work is near completion, in addition to many upgrades to current facilities located at the park. Currently, the large pavilion recieved it's new roof, the bathroom structure recieved not only it's new roof, but a face lift and remodel. It will soon get a new coat of paint to match the current paint colors of the equipment. The old volleyball court was removed and a new one constructed with better drainage. The sign at the entrance was re-done and will get a new sign as well. Fencing for the dog park is underway, and upon completion, new grass will be added along with the fixtures that were purchased. Finally, funds are being looked into for the addition of a basketball court and the construction of another pavilion.
